What to Expect with Chemical Peels

As we age the color, tone and texture of our skin change.  Chemical peels are an effective treatment that removes the damaged top layer of skin allowing the smoother, healthier lower layer to come to the service.

There are many types of chemical peels on the market.  You may be familiar with many of the lower grade peels performed in a spa setting by estheticians.  These peels are a good choice for many patients and can be found in the ACPS medical spa.  However, if you desire a more aggressive peel that delivers greater results in less time you may want to discuss having Dr. Newall perform a Phenol or TCA peel.  These peels are more aggressive and are performed by physicians only.  Most individuals plan on a 2 week recovery period before returning to work.

Just like the lower grade peels the Phenol or TCA peel causes the top layers of skin to peel off and allowing new skin cells to form.  The results include smoother, younger looking skin with decreased discoloration and fine lines.  Dr. Newall can discuss all your options with you to help you achieve the results you desire.
